{Abraham Lincoln}
Abraham Lincoln the 16th President of the United States shares some wisdom…
“Everything I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel mother”
“I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true. I am not bound to succeed, but I am bound to live by the light that I have. I must stand with anybody that stands right, and stand with him while he is right, and part with him when he goes wrong.”
“Education is not just sitting in a schoolhouse. Education is learning, and that can be done anytime and anywhere — as long as the mind is willing.”
“I have been driven many times to my knees by the overwhelming conviction that I had nowhere else to go”
“I like to see a man proud of the place in which he lives.
I like to see a man live so that his place will be proud of him.”“I fear explanations explanatory of things explained.”
“I believe the Bible is the best gift God has ever given to men.
All the good from the Savior of the world is communicated to us through this book.”“Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.”
{Thoughts}
I read this in my devotions this morning. I was especially encouraged by the last line.
“If you are pressing forward and upward, seeking to attain new heights in education and in spiritual things, you will have discernment to understand that which is required of you. You will have the Holy Spirit to help you all your infirmities. It is natural for the youth to love amusement…, but the natural inclinations must be overcome by putting the soul under the discipline to God…..Walk not hesitatingly, but firmly in the strength and grace of Jesus Christ.”

{A Happy Day}
Isn’t it so nice when you’ve come to the end of the day, and you can say with a happy heart, “I’ve had a good day!”? I think so! I was pondering this when I was doing some cleaning this afternoon, and I realized why I’ve had a good day…
This morning as I awoke, I made a decided effort to stay close to the Lord, I silently prayed that the Lord would give me grace for today’s trials. That’s the reason – thank you, Lord!
I’ve had a busy day… I finished my business assignment, cooked lunch, which was comprised of stuffed cannelloni with rich tomato sauce, with baked vegetables and custard slice (with pink icing
that my Mum used to make when I was a little girl.
I hope you’ve had a happy day too!
